Born in Kenya, he now resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He enjoys his CrossFit, cycling, hiking, and kayaking community, in addition to good conversation and writing, live performances and art shows, making and sharing good food – and learning as much as possible.
Wally has over five years of experience in program management, including managing grant and foundation portfolios for nationally recognized foundations. He has over 10 years of experience in talent development and client relationship-building roles, including teaching, coaching, facilitating, and consulting. He specializes in facilitation, leadership development, coaching and creating space for growth and navigating complexity. Honors include Ron McKinley Philanthropy Fellow, W.K. Kellogg Foundation Global Fellow and Humphrey School of Public Affairs Policy Fellow.
Wally earned his Master of Arts in Adult Learning and Organizational Leadership from Columbia University, as well as the Columbia Coaching Certification Program (3CP) with strong foundations in adult learning, leadership development and neurology. He also received his bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, from Augsburg University.
