Bethany Johnson-Javois shines an unflinching light on systemic inequalities and unjust power structures with candor and grace. Her strategic approach to building equitable systems is founded in an unwavering faith in the ability of communities to co-create and shape their own destiny and an uncanny capacity for eliminating barriers that impede success and gaining consensus from diverse stakeholders.

She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Washington University and also served as an adjunct professor within the universityā€™s School of Social Work. Her healthcare sector leadership has earned both organizational and personal accolades, including the 2016 Silver Bell Award recipient from Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri, St. Louis Childrenā€™s Hospital 2015 Community Advocate of the year, and St. Louis Americanā€™s Advocacy Organization of the Year.

Throughout her career, Ms. Johnson-Javois has earned the reputation for transforming a blank slate into the infrastructure and systems necessary for building movements, organizations, and playbooks for change. As the CEO of the St. Louis Integrated Health Network (IHN), she built a fledging organization into a cohesive, vibrant consortium of member institutions focused on improving accessibility, quality, and affordability of healthcare for St. Louisā€™s medically underserved residents. Her clear-eyed vision for the future reverberates through her commitment to her faith community.

She is an oft-requested speaker, trainer, and facilitator who inspires people at the intersection of spirituality and racial justice. She is also passionate about developing emerging leaders into politically savvy agents of change and has done exactly that throughout her diverse professional career.
